We have choice about how we see the world. Things don’t just happen to us. Consciously or not, we’re the ones behind the curtain who make the show happen.
We have choice like Neo does in The Matrix movie, when Morpheus offers him a choice between a blue pill and a red one. Each one will lead to a different future.
The Blue Pill is choosing the status quo. We believe that it’s good enough, that it’ll do.
The Red Pill is choosing an alternative to the Blue Pill. (There are low dose red pills and higher.) It often signifies breaking through and thinking for oneself.
But there’s also the Black Pill. The Black Pill is choosing an alternative to the blue. The trouble is that if you take it, then whatever way you turn you’ll find that you’re still screwed. It’s doom wherever you zoom.
Then there’s the White Pill.
The White Pill is where you realize that there is no way out of the Matrix without trusting, falling back on a whole other system, hitherto untried. You recognize that there is no way you can strategize yourself out of the Matrix from within it, because all strategy depends on the Matrix. And no way that we can collectively strategize ourselves out of the box. Our situation is beyond strategy.
Sometimes this dead-end situation makes people turn around and see the possibility of another direction entirely.
Sometimes.
It seems to take courage.
How’d we get into this situation anyway?
I’ll go back and recapitulate the story leading up to here, as I see it.
We’re enmeshed in a tidy self-contained worldview, the Matrix.
The Matrix is shaped like Russian dolls in that there are dolls within dolls within dolls. (Those darn Russians!)
The doll we’re in over the last 100 years or so has been taken over by globalists who want total control.
Modern technology gives them the possibility to achieve total and absolute control.
Everything in the doll we’re in is shaped to that end. That’s what the Globalists want.
We’re not conscious of it.Even when we think we know it we only know it vaguely. Our knowing doesn’t touch our heart. It doesn’t touch our deep consciousness.
Or at least we don’t follow it there. We may understand it virtually but not really.
We can’t make another see or understand this. We’re tempted to forget we saw it ourself!
We fear being excluded or punished for valuing the truth of our deepest heart over the truth of the Matrix.
The Matrix has always given us comfort and security. It’s hard to give up.
When we see how hard it is to give up, we see how strung out we are on the Matrix. But it’s good to know that.
“[B]ut little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do-
determined to save
the only life you could save”
(from The Journey, Mary Oliver)
It’s good to know that we’re addicted to the Matrix because the recognition is itself a doorway to sobriety.
If we think our safety is in the Matrix, we’ll never give up wanting it.
We’ll give up on everything else and everyone else to belong to the Matrix.
That brings us to today with the choice of pills before us.
—
Maybe you see the pills differently or the situation differently, or maybe you see them much like me. If you relate to the metaphor I’d love to hear how you navigate the Matrix yourself. (I see that Substack had limited comments to Paid Subscribers by default; I turned that off.)
As long as the Matrix controls that which we need or think we need then we are controlled indirectly. To break free and set a new course for oneself and all others who want fundamental societal change, requires us to step by step regain control over our basic needs of food and water, clothing, medical, education and housing. There are many.people making inroads in each of these areas who are under the radar. Each of us can so more and keep inquiring on ways to tap into this growing decentralized movement. The future is incredibly bright!
Probably living on the European continent allows a different view:
1. Okay there are this Russian dolls - fine with it
2. Calling a whole nation „Those darn Russians“ is a no go and following the mainstream propaganda against Russia.
3. Who has taken over the Matrix and who are these globalists who want total control? Guess which country ist the hegemon in the western world and is calling the shots.
